Recyclers Needed
A request from Daryn from the Green Team….
Local Request. Hi, I’m Daryn from Make A Green Team. We’re looking to recruit 4 to 5 local Calstock volunteers from the village to help us make good the festival green, outside the hall & car park areas both Saturday morning and Sunday morning of the festival. Last year we had to deal with a lot of broken pint glasses and stubby bottles which in its self quite time consuming. This year with the support (I hope) from the pub & the social club we can knock this issue on its head and reduce the risk of glass accident as a result for all attending. If you can give a couple of hours each morning please join us below. Thank you.

Camping at this years festival
We are sorry to announce that there will be a NO CAMPING policy at this years festival. We have had to take this step due to advice from the Licensing Dept. and the Police. This was because of the disruptive and aggressive behaviour of a small group who camped last year. We have a responsibility to the safety of others who attend as well as the wider community - the majority of the crew live in the village. Any further incidents, such as those that occurred last year, could mean us not being granted a licence for future events and mean no further festivals.
There will be a camping area for crew and performers and we will try and find space for those who have travelled a long way and can not get home. Large groups - especially those who are drunk and being disruptive – will be asked to leave.
A bus service will be in place after the Friday and Saturday gigs. This will operate between the village and Callington – Gunnislake – Tavistock , enabling those who have attended to get home.
More news soon
Comedy Night
Once again the festival will begin with an evening of laughter as JammyCow Productions presents a night of comedy in Stand Up for Calstock 2012.
Featuring a stand up sets from an exciting array of national and local comedians – this years line up is Pierre Hollins http://pierrehollins.com , Amadeus Martin, Toby Muresianu, Dai Davies & Bobby Freeman.
Tickets will be £8 in advance and £10 on the door – more details to follow.
Please note that this is for ages 16+ Due to issues at previous festivals no one under that age will be allowed in.
Recycling at the Festival
We are very happy to say that once again the lovely folk at the Make A Green Team will be handling all our recycling during the festival. With their support we aim to be more sustainable - reducing, reusing and recycling as much of the waste created as possible. A big thanks to the Green Team crew for all the hard work they put in – for more info on what they do go to http://www.facebook.com/groups/makeagreenteam/.

All bands have now been confirmed – see the Line Up section for more details.
We are pleased to announce that the wonderful Mae and the Midnight Fairground will now be supporting Gadjo on Friday 8 June. Big Beat will now finish things off on the outdoor stage on Saturday 9 June.
No it’s not an April fool
Welcome to our new revamped website! Planning for this years festival is in full swing and we have asked the weather gods to smile on us again (their bribe was a little bigger than usual this year, which makes me feel hopeful it will be a scorcher!)
The design team are now on their Easter holidays eating lots of chocolate eggs but when they return it is said that they will bring the mythical Calstock festival 2012 poster back with them! As soon as we are able to show you we will…watch this space!!!
